| CONSULTATION SURVEYS
Throughout the process, a series of on-line surveys were used to facilitate the participation of all interested parties in an industry-wide, industry-led assessment and strategy for the seed industry. The survey questions followed on the Advisory Committee's discussions.
The surveys sought the views of seed sector stakeholders both in Canada and in other countries.
Domestic Surveys
Two surveys have been used to gather the ideas and opinions of Canadian stakeholders.
Survey 1 - now closed
This survey was an environmental scan of the industry. It asked for views on issues, trends, strengths, weaknesses, etc. The summary of responses to this survey are posted on this website.
Survey 2 - now closed
Survey 2 focussed on the key issues raised and directions suggested for the future arising from the first survey and the Advisory Committee discussions.
Survey 3 - now open
The third and final domestic Survey 3 will begin in May 2004. It will present the principal findings of the Advisory Committee regarding the future of the seed sector and its thinking around an enabling regulatory framework, as contained in the Seed Sector Review Report. Interested parties will have approximately 3 months to provide their comments and suggestions on this report. International respondents are also invited to participate in Survey III.

This project is supported by the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through generous support from Canada's Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development (CARD) Fund.
